My baby has been held too much, how can i fix this?

well what i mean is..... i had my baby 3 weeks ago.. and as expected.. wev had alot of visitors and people wanting to nurse him.. plus relatives who have been staying with us for a visit hold him, and nurse him to sleep... i have asked them not to.. and to leave him in his cot, or put him down when he is asleep... they dont realise that i am the one who has to deal with the repercussions! now he wont go to sleep by himself. he is that used to being nursed to sleep... he has been waking up every 10 minutes today ( i am home alone for the first time since he has been born) he wakes up when he realises he is in his cot and not being nursed and cries until i pick him up.. and then goes back to sleep..... how can i fix this?? he doesnt like taking a pacifier, but i managed to soothe him with one just before.. but he is waking up again..
